Computational Thinking Challenge

See how students think. Discover what they can do.

Helping the next generation develop the computational thinking and problem-solving capabilities needed to navigate an increasingly complex world.

Develop Complex Skills

Computational thinking goes beyond coding. It equips learners with the skills to break down complex problems, recognise patterns, think logically, and develop solutions. Our assessment helps learners explore these capabilities as they tackle unfamiliar challenges.

Learn Through Fun Challenges

Through interactive, game-based challenges, learners explore problems, test ideas, and discover new ways of thinking. Designed to make assessment engaging, CTC brings the experience of play together with a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate computational thinking.

Gain Personal Insight

Go beyond right and wrong answers. CTC provides personalised insights into learners' computational thinking, helping them recognise their strengths and identify areas for further development. These insights offer a starting point for reflection, growth, and future learning.

The Computational Thinking Challenge (CTC) was developed by Dr. Rina Lai, building on her research at the University of Cambridge.

CTC uses interactive digital challenges to explore how learners approach complex problems. It combines assessment science, psychometrics, and technology to advance how computational thinking is assessed beyond conventional right-or-wrong measures.
